The Stuttgart native has previous experience in the Premier League, having featured in 89 competitive games (23 goals, 21 assists) for Chelsea FC from summer 2020 to 2022.
In order for the striker to see more regular playing time this season, the club have agreed to a loan with Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of the season.
RB Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schröder said, “Both Timo and us want him to get as much playing time as possible in the lead-up to this summer’s EUROs in Germany. Tottenham Hotspur will give him this opportunity, which is why a loan made sense for all those involved.”
“We’re convinced that Timo will find his way back to his old strength in the Premier League. There’s no question about his qualities as a player, with his 113 goals for RB Leipzig proof enough. We wish Timo all the best for his time in England.”
