RB Leipzig & sporting director Markus Krösche terminate contract!

After intensive discussions regarding the club’s future, RB Leipzig and sporting director Markus Krösche have mutually come to the decision to end their collaboration and terminate Krösche’s contract by mutual agreement at the end of the 2020/21 season. The contract originally ran until 2022.

Markus Krösche had joined RB Leipzig from SC Paderborn in 2019 and has had some success with the bulls, but he is said to have had problems with the RB Leipzig management and is now potentially looking at other clubs with Eintracht Frankfurt as favourite to get his signature.

RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff said, “The discussions with Markus Krösche were very good and open at all times. After two years of constructive teamwork, we have now mutually reached the conclusion that terminating the contract is the right solution for both parties. Of course, we are prepared for this situation and will also tackle the goal of Champions League qualification with a strong team in the upcoming season.”

“We would like to thank Markus for what he has achieved during his time at RB Leipzig and wish him only the best for the future. His duties will be taken over by Christopher Vivell and Florian Scholz until the end of the season.”

Meanwhile Markus Krösche added, “I wish the club and the team all the best and thank everyone for the successful time together.”
