RoundGlass Sports completes 100% acquisition of Punjab FC!

Mohali-based RoundGlass Sports has announced the completion of its 100% acquisition of former I-League champions Punjab Football Club. RoundGlass Sports will now operate and manage all existing Punjab FC teams including the senior team.

Prior to the start of the 2019/20 season, RoundGlass Sports acquired a 50% stake in Minerva Punjab FCA and the club was officially renamed to Punjab FC. On March 17, RoundGlass Sports’ officially took over the remaining 50% ownership of the club.

Coming under the aegis of RoundGlass Sports will further strengthen and invigorate Punjab FC, offering players access to an international-level sports ecosystem through a team of UEFA/AFC/AIFF certified coaches along with world class technical staff, nutritional, educational, medical and training facilities, the statement said.

The RoundGlass Sports Academy will train and field multiple teams under Punjab FC at various age and skill levels – from as young as Under-7s to the senior levels.

“RoundGlass Sports will build Punjab Football Club by creating an unparalleled, best-in-class academy rooted in the philosophy of holistic well being. This commitment and investment will identify, nurture, and produce talented players capable of achieving success at the international level,” RoundGlass founder Gurpreet ‘Sunny’ Singh, said.

“We aim to create positive outcomes for society, in terms of health and productivity of entire communities,” he said.

“I have long believed in the power and potential of Punjabi talent and look forward to empowering the community with the RoundGlass Sports Academy to create an exciting, credible and inspiring new chapter for Indian Football,” he said.
