Saudi Arabia take over top spot in the AFC Club Competitions Ranking!

Al Hilal SFC’s record breaking victory in the AFC Champions League 2021 Final has propelled Saudi Arabia to the top of the latest AFC Club Competitions Ranking.

With the results of clubs participating in the four previous sporting seasons, Saudi Arabia lead the rankings on 100 points as South Korea trail in second on 95.462 points followed by former leaders Japan, who dropped to third place, on 93.412 points.

Saudi Arabia’s latest position can be attributed to their clubs’ consistent performance in the AFC Champions League where Al Hilal SFC lifted the trophy twice in the last three editions to mark an unprecedented fourth victory in the showpiece.

Another Saudi Arabian club, Al Nassr have also performed admirably, having advanced to the Semi-finals in 2021.

South Korea maintained second position on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking with their club Pohang Steelers finishing second in the AFC Champions League 2021.

Iran sit in fourth place on the rankings on 77.792 points while Qatar are ranked fifth on 75.131 points.

The AFC Club Competitions Ranking 2021 shall be applied to determine the slot allocation for the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup 2023 season.
