The ISL title holders start their home campaign against Delhi Dynamos on October 6. It will be CFC’s first match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai since December 1, 2015, when they defeated Mumbai City FC 3-0 with more than 12,000 passionate fans attending the game despite torrential rains hitting the city.

The tickets will be on general sale from Monday, September 26 at the Box office – Gate No.10 of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Last season Chennaiyin FC won four out of their seven home games in the league stage at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which is popularly referred to as Marina Arena by the CFC Fans – the SuperMachans.
Three of those four wins came at a stretch towards the end of the league stage and eventually helped CFC rise from the bottom of the table to the playoffs. Chennaiyin FC went on to win the title by beating FC Goa 3-2 in a dramatic final in Goa.
Chennaiyin have Italian 2006 FIFA World Cup winner Marco Materazzi as their head coach for the third straight season and have also retained as many as 14 players from last season including superstar Bernard Mendy, India’s star striker Jeje Lalpekhlua and Chennai-born Dhanpal Ganesh.
The new signings include ISL winners Baljit Singh Sahni and Nallappan Mohanraj, who also hails from Tamil Nadu, while Liverpool FC and Norway legend John Arne Riise is the marquee player.
Chennaiyin FC is currently having its pre-season preparations in Perugia, Italy.
