With the current Japanese national player Takuma Asano, as well as club legend Ralf Zumdick, top-class insight was available to the Japanese coaches in a question and answer session.
“The participants really enjoy it and the feedback is excellent. We are looking forward to many joint projects with VfL and are happy about the great start,” said Jun Hirano from Funroots.
Andreas Kluy, Head of Marketing at VfL Bochum 1848 who is responsible for growing the club internationally, was also pleased “about an unexpected success in a highly competitive market. We want to expand the programme further and see the potential in our two target countries Japan and Vietnam. I would like to thank our partners for the very good cooperation”.
Since the start of the football school in the Tokyo Metropolitan Region, a total of almost 100 children and 20 coaches have successfully participated in the programme. The metropolitan region on Japan’s Pacific coast is the economic, political and cultural centre of the country and various large European clubs are active there with their football schools.
