Gebrüder Weiss is new partner of SpVgg Bayreuth!

Fans and spectators of Spielvereinigung Bayreuth will in future find a new colour on the yellow and black jerseys of the ‘Altstadt’: orange with the letters GW. Behind GW is the international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss. The company, which has recently been established in Bayreuth, is now the gold sponsor of the traditional club. The new partnership was sealed on August 1 between SpVgg Managing Director Jörg Schmalfuss and Werner Dettenthaler, Managing Director Land Transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss.

The logistics company recently took over the Bayreuth forwarding agency Wedlich and thus assumed the important role of logistical partner for the Upper Franconian economy. “Therefore, there was no question that we would also get involved with the football club. We have a lot in common with ‘Oldschdod’: team play, speed, precision and, above all, a love of movement. We are happy to support all teams and wish one successful season,” explained Dettenthaler when the contract was signed in Bayreuth. In addition to the First men’s football team, the logistician also supports the youth and women’s teams of SpVgg Bayreuth.

Passionate commitment and skilful interaction of professionals for top performances – that fits together, whether on the football pitch or on the transport routes,” added Jörg Schmalfuss at the signing of the contract.”

In the future, the orange GW logo will not only appear on the jerseys of SpVgg Bayreuth, but also on the boards and the grandstand of the Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion. Gebrüder Weiss is represented at nine locations in southern Germany and, in addition to professional football, is also involved in cycling, running and volleyball.
