All teams will ordinarily comprise two members, with at least one professional footballer from the Bundesliga or Bundesliga 2 putting his console skills to the test for each club. The second team member will be an employee of the club or involved with it in some way.

The first three rounds of the “Bundesliga Home Challenge” were broadcast by numerous media outlets online and on television, with the first two match days reaching an average of over two million users.

The “Bundesliga Home Challenge” is not included in any official sporting classification. The Virtual Bundesliga (VBL), an eFootball competition organized by the DFL since 2012, on the other hand is taking a break due to the current spread of the corona virus.
