East Bengal friendly in Malaysia abandoned, next friendly fixed!

Kolkata giants East Bengal Club friendly match against Malaysian Premier League side UKMFC on Wednesday, October 10 was abandoned due to incessant rains.

East Bengal’s next friendly has been fixed against Terengganu FC at USIM Stadium on October 13 at 17:00h Malaysian time.

Interestingly, East Bengal has faced Terengganu FC twice on Indian soil in the 1970s, first a 3-0 win at the 1973 IFA Shield and then a 1-1 draw at the 1977 DCM Trophy.

East Bengal had reached the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Thursday for their pre-season which is taking place at the MSN Sports Complex – Setiawangsa Sports Complex, Kuala Lumpur from October 4 to 22.

The team could be playing a few more practice matches which will be announced as and when confirmed by the team management.

East Bengal will return to Kolkata on October 22 late night.
