I was born on October 30, 1976 in Remscheid and brought-up in Germany; spending five years of my schooling in Kolkata in-between. As a German-born person of Indian origin, I played football as a youngster and remained interested in the game over the years.
Though my initial entry into the sports space was through media and I still am connected to it until today, my focus of work has shifted more to consultancy, advisory and mentoring roles with close to 25 years of experience.
I have over the years worked on a number of football projects across the world in management, as strategic advisor and as a consultant, having worked for the German Football Association (DFB), German Bundesliga, FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1899 Hoffenheim, Manchester City (Etihad Airways), Southampton FC, worked in football development in the Caribbean (West Indies), the Asian Football Confederation, the All India Football Federation, the Indian national football team, being Mumbai City FC’s COO in the inaugural 2014 Indian Super League season and involved as youth development advisor with RoundGlass Sports (Punjab, India).
I have also worked on football development projects in Europe, India and the Caribbean with in recent times a focus on grassroots and youth football besides general development of the game across the pyramid.
Besides football, I have worked on other sports like Handball, Polo, Kabaddi, Basketball and also have done projects in eSports besides local grassroot sports projects in Germany.
Looking at the future, I would like to contribute to the overall development of sports, its players and integrate national and international sports bodies for a focused global approach, then only overall development can happen.
