East Bengal the Real Power hand LIC Policy over to late Joy Shankar Saha’s family!

During the last Kolkata Derby on October 29, 2022, an unfortunate event took place inside the East Bengal gallery at the Saltlake Stadium. East Bengal fan Joy Shankar Saha died prematurely at an early age of 38 in the strands of YBK, suffering from a heart attack during the high voltage match.

Resident of Baguihati, Joy Shankar was a diehard East Bengal fan. His six year old daughter won’t be able to see her father again. She is studying in class one and it is very unfortunate to lose her father at such an young age.

EAST BENGAL the REAL POWER (EBRP) family, are fortunate enough to help Joy Shankar’s family financially with the help of fellow East Bengal supporters. As always, the entire East Bengal community came forward to raise a total fund of Rs. 325,000 (Three Lacs Twenty Five Thousand) in just 120 hours. To the EBRP family, we don’t say thanks rather we show our gratitude to be able to lend some succour to the bereaved family.

As a next step, EBRP would like to offer support to Joy Shankar’s wife and his daughter through a Life Insurance Policy (LIC of India). Tapati Saha and the family has been kind enough to help us with the necessary documents enabling us to process this. As a result of this, Tapati Saha (Late Joy Shankar’s Wife) will get an amount of Rs. 21,000 annually and in her absence, their daughter will get Rs. 325,000 as a one-time bonus through this insurance policy.

This gesture, albeit minuscule in front of Joy Shankar’s life but EBRP hope will be able to help in some small way to his family. This was the wish of the EBRP family, manifested by your generous donations which now will go some way in helping the family.

Not only this one time exercise but EBRP are wholeheartedly ready to help Joy Shankar’s family in future as well for anything they might need to tide over this incident. EBRP hope and pray to God that they can do so and also hope that such incidents never happen to anyone again.

In case of any questions regarding this donation and life insurance, feel free to drop a comment or Email to info@ebrp.in . EBRP will try our best to answer you.

During this period the way Bengaluru FC came forward and amplified the campaign via their matchday magazine “Blueprint” deserves special mention. Besides this the owner of Delhi FC Ranjit Bajaj also came forward and donated an amount of Rs. 20,000 for the fund raising drive. Mr. Bajaj also amplified the campaign actively. EBRP are thankful to both Mr. Bajaj and BFC from the very core of our heart.

Lastly, it’s our promise that EBRP will always be there standing behind the whole East Bengal family in every tough situation with your love and support.
