Punjab beat Mizoram to lift the Junior National Football Championship!

Riding on a brace from substitute striker Jaskaranpreet Singh, Punjab beat Mizoram 3-0 to in the final to lift the Junior National Football Championship 2016/17 (Tier 1) at the Pant Football Ground in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh on Friday, May 5.

After both teams were locked goalless after 90 minutes, Punjab surged into the lead in the 94th minute when substitute Jaskaranpreet scored his first goal. Kishori doubled the lead in the 114th minute while Jaskaranpreet scored his second in the 120th minute to finally seal the game for Punjab.
