VST backed Kemp FC eyes strong start in IWL 2!

Kemp Football Club (Kemp FC) will begin its Indian Women’s League 2 (IWL 2) campaign on March 25 with new branding in the opening match against Suruchi Sangha FC of Kolkata, as the Bengaluru-based side looks to continue its rapid rise in women’s football.

Formed only four years ago, Kemp FC has quickly emerged as one of the most promising teams in Karnataka’s women’s football circuit and for the first a well-known name like VST Group stepped forward to champion the cause of women’s football. With an impressive win rate of around 80 per cent and a structured development pathway for more than 120 young women players, the club has progressed through the KSFA league system and now enters IWL 2 among the favourites to challenge for promotion to the top tier.

“Our focus remains firmly on football and on building a pathway for young women to compete at the highest level,” said Kathleen De Saran, President of Kemp FC. “In just three seasons we have built a competitive squad, invested in coaching and sports science, and created a strong pipeline of talent. IWL 2 is an important step in our journey and the players are ready for the challenge.”

Kemp FC’s programme combines elite coaching, mental conditioning and performance analysis as part of its long-term vision to compete at the highest level of women’s club football.

These methods are already yielding results, exemplified by national call-ups of midfielders Khushbu and Mithila, who represented India at the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship in January 2026. Defender Dhurga claimed the Best Defender award in the Karnataka Women’s League 2025-26 followed by a national call-up.

Over the past three seasons, numerous talents from Kemp FC’s U13 and U17 age groups have earned spots on the Karnataka state teams, underscoring the club’s robust grassroots development. While seasoned Kemp FC players continue to form the core of Karnataka’s Senior Women’s team.

Ahead of the season, the club announced support from VST Group. “Sport builds confidence, resilience and a sense of purpose, and we are pleased to encourage young women pursuing football,” said Arun Surendra, Chairman and Group Managing Director of VST Group. “It is important that young women have the encouragement and the platform to pursue sport seriously, and we are proud to play a small role in that journey,” he added.

“Having VST Group stand behind us as we enter the IWL 2 is a watershed moment for Kemp FC and women’s football in India,” concluded Kathleen.
