AFC Appeal Committee’s decision upheld by CAS!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) welcomes the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)’s decision to dismiss Al Nassr (KSA)’s appeal against the AFC Appeal Committee’s decision on November 16, 2020.

On October 9, 2020, the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee had dismissed the protest lodged by Al Nassr pursuant to Article 59 of the AFC Champions League 2020 Competition Regulations regarding the eligibility of certain Persepolis FC (IRN) players who had participated in the Semi-final match of the AFC Champions League (West).

Subsequently, the AFC Appeal Committee had dismissed Al Nassr’s appeal against the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee’s decision.

CAS has now upheld the AFC Appeal Committee’s decision.
