Aston Villa have announced captain John McGinn has signed a new, long-term contract with the Club.
The midfielder’s new deal will see him remain at Villa Park until summer 2027.
McGinn signed for Villa in the summer of 2018 from Hibernian FC after enjoying the early part of his career in his native Scotland and immediately endeared himself to the Villa support with his all-action displays in the middle of the park.
He wrote his name into the club’s history books with his contribution and goal at Wembley, helping to clinch promotion back to the Premier League in 2019.
One of the first names on the teamsheet ever since, the firm fans’ favourite was named club captain last summer.
In the international arena, he is a regular fixture in Scotland’s midfield, proudly representing his country at the UEFA EURO 2020 finals.
