Third season now with Delhi Dynamos, you are the only player to have played with the club for all three seasons. How does it feel?
It feels good. Delhi Dynamos has become like a family to me. Let’s see, if we become the champions this season, it will be even sweeter. Let’s hope for the best.
The Delhi Dynamos are the top scoring team in the ISL. Does this ease the pressure on the defence?
It certainly helps in reducing the pressure on the defenders. When the offensive part of the game is going well, it gives us confidence as well. We have already scored 26 goals this season, so it’s good to see the offensive part of our game clicking. It’s good for the entire team and good for us defenders as well when we score lots of goals.
Do you have more freedom to go front to join the attack?
Yes, it definitely helps us in sprinting forward as well. We can also pressurize the opposition as well since we have a strong attacking line up front. It improves the confidence of the whole team.
Now the Dynamos are in the crucial stage of the season. How do you mentally prepare for such games?
I personally feel that we should not be thinking of having qualified. We need to take it one match at a time, and with good results, we will move ahead. But we need to think about the opponents of our next match and prepare for them. A win will give us three points, and it’s good that the team goes into the match wanting to get those three points and not worry about the standings.
