East Bengal storm into the Bordoloi Trophy semifinals!

Kingfisher East BengalIn line with their earlier performances at the Bordoloi Trophy, Kolkata giants East Bengal Club entered the semifinals of the 64th Bordoloi Trophy with a 2-0 win over United Sikkim FC in their second Group B match at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati tonight.

With this win East Bengal now have six points winning both their group matches.

In a match dominated by the red and gold, young striker Jiten Murmu drew first blood in the 73rd minute of a brilliant pass from Nikhil Poojary, while Somide Adelaja doubled the lead in the 84th minute of an assist by substitute Lalchchanhima.

The match had to be halted for about 15 minutes due to floodlight failure.
