German Bundesliga side 1.FC Köln and ERIMA presented the new home jersey for the 2017/18 season. Club and kit supplier presented the jersey through a video via social media.
To coincide with the 70th birthday that 1.FC Köln celebrates this season, the new design is linked to previous designs from the long and successful history of the club. The traditionally white home jerseys are supplemented by red block strips. A special highlight is the dark red accents at the lower end of the longitudinal strips, which is a highlight of the jersey. The kit is rounded off by white pants and white necks with a red block strip on the back. In a similar dress the FC Cologne pros were already in the domestic stadium in the 1970s and 1990s. With the design, ERIMA responded to the many expressed wishes of FC fans for a jersey with blockstrips.
Parallel to the presentation, ERIMA organized a scavenger hunt (Schnitzeljagd) through the whole of Cologne with the FC jersey hunt. Social media was used to draw attention to the fact that the fans had to recognize important places like the Luxemburger Straße 188, the Cologne Cathedral and the Geißbockheim for the club and the city. There, ERIMA employees were waiting with two copies of the new home jersey for those who reached the place most quickly. The quest was a big success, so that at all stops of the jersey quest the prices were already out of print after just a few minutes.
