FC Bengaluru United register emphatic 8-0 win over Students Union!

FC Bengaluru United (FCBU) produced a stunning second-half display to dismantle Students Union FC 8–0 in their KSFA Super Division 2025–26 clash to register their third win on the trot. A cagey first half finally yielded a stoppage-time free-kick from Bidyananda Singh, and the floodgates opened after the break as FCBU turned dominance into ruthless finishing – Nikhil leading the charge with a four-goal haul. (45+5’ Bidyananda, 49’ 63’ 80’ 88’ Nikhil, 50’ Lijo, 60’ OG, 51’ Altab).

The first half saw few clear chances, with both teams struggling to make their advances count. In the 16th minute the SUFC keeper fumbled under pressure inside the box, but Nikhil couldn’t force the rebound home. Students Union themselves had one decent opening that was snuffed out by organised FCBU defending. Just when the half looked set to end goalless, Bidyananda stepped up in stoppage time (45+5) and curled a superb free-kick from just outside the box into the net to give FCBU a crucial lead at the break.

The second half was a different story — FCBU struck early and relentlessly. Soon after the restart Altab picked up the ball in space and slipped a perfect through-ball to Nikhil, who finished from close range (49′). Lijo followed this up with a thunderous strike from just inside the box — a top-right corner rocket — to make it 3–0 (50′). A minute later, later Altab intercepted a sloppy defence pass and delicately chipped the keeper to extend the lead (51′). Srijith in goal then produced a vital 1v1 save to keep the momentum firmly with FCBU, and in the 60th minute Junain’s dangerous cross led to an unfortunate own goal for 5–0. Nikhil added a composed finish after a deflection, turning onto his left and slotting into the bottom-left corner (63′), before tapping in from Junain’s low cross to make it 7–0 (80′). He completed his haul from the penalty spot in the 88th minute to round off an unstoppable second-half performance and seal the 8–0 scoreline.

A commanding second-half display, clinical finishing and a near-perfect team performance handed FCBU a statement win — a perfect response after a hesitant first 45, and a clear signal of their attacking firepower this season.
