FC Bengaluru United (FCBU) continued their strong run in the KSFA Super Division 2025–26 with a commanding 3–0 victory over Bengaluru FC. Goals from Nikhil (27′, 72′) and Lijo (81′) sealed a performance that grew in dominance as the game wore on, especially after BFC were reduced to 10 men early in the second half.
The game began with an early opening for FCBU when Bidya sent a long ball to Altab, who had a clear chance to square it to Nikhil for a tap-in, but his cross went high. BFC’s pressing made it tough to break through, but FCBU kept pushing and found their breakthrough in the 27th minute: Ribhav delivered a beautiful cross into the box and Nikhil rose to head it home for 1–0. Soon after, Ragui whipped in another dangerous ball that the keeper collected just in time, and a Ribhav free-kick from close range curled narrowly past the post.
The second half started with a big moment — Dhruv was fouled at the edge of the box and the BFC defender received a second yellow card, leaving them with 10 men in the 47th minute. FCBU began to turn up the pressure. Niketh’s header from a corner forced a brilliant save onto the crossbar, and their momentum paid off in the 72nd minute when Junain was brought down by the keeper in the box. Nikhil stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to make it 2–0. Nine minutes later, Junain turned provider again, making a strong run down the wing and setting up Lijo, who finished clinically into the bottom corner to seal the result at 3–0.
It was a dominant display from FCBU, who stayed patient early on, took control after the opener, and capitalised on their numerical advantage in the second half to secure three points and another clean sheet.
