The former Honorary Secretary of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and FIFA appeals committee member P.P. Lakshmanan was cremated with full state honours in Kannur, Kerala on Wednesday, May 2.
P.P. Lakshmanan had died in a private hospital in Kannur on Monday, April 30 due to old-age related ailments.
The last rites were held at the Payyambalam public crematorium in Kannur with Lakshmanan’s son Navin lighting the funeral pyre.
P.P. Lakshmanan besides serving as the AIFF Secretary had also served as the Municipal chairman of Kannur in 1999/2000 and his body had been kept at the corporation office after going to his South Bazar home.
