Former footballer and referee Laldinliana passes away!

Former Mizoram footballer Laldinliana passed away today, September 24 at Chaltlang in Aizawl. He was also a qualified referee under the Mizoram Football Association.

Fondly known as Laldina, he played for Mizoram at Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior team levels as well as the Subroto Cup.

A vital defender for PWD during his heyday, he won the Laldenga Gold Cup, Independence Day Football trophy and also lifted the Chief Minister’s Gold Cup, Sikkim. He also played for Mizoram in the Bordoloi Trophy and the NE Fraternity Gold Cup.

At local level, he was instrumental in Chaltlang lifting the Central YMA Football trophy.

A natural athlete, he also won gold at the Mizoram State Games 1985 in 50-55 kg judo.

The MFA mourns his untimely demise and offers its most sincere condolences to his family and friends.
