Former champions Vasco SC edged past Guardian Angel SC 2-1 in the day’s Goa Professional League match played at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Monday evening.
Vasco’s new Guinean midfielder Vanessa Toure gave his side a 44th minute lead, which they took into the break.
But Guardian Angel SC came back into the match and equalised in the 51st minute through substitute Perryson Rebello.
The score didn’t stay this way for too long as again Vanessa Toure scored, this time the winner for the men from the port town as Guardian Angel SC didn’t score of their chances.
For Vasco SC it was the first win of this Goa Pro League campaign.
