After registering a thumping win against Bhutan on Monday, October 29, the India U-15 boys take on Bangladesh in the semifinal clash of the 2018 SAFF U-15 Championship, which will be played in Kathmandu, Nepal on Thursday, November 1 at 10.15am IST.
Drawn against Pakistan and Bhutan in the group stages, the Indian colts started off their campaign with a loss against archrivals Pakistan as the match ended 1-2. Despite the early setback, the team coached by Shuvendu Panda fought back in their next game and pumped four unanswered goals past Bhutan to secure a place in the last four.
Talking about the previous two matches, Panda stated that the team continued to play the same way despite the initial loss. “Although we displayed a dominating performance in our first match, we couldn’t get the right result. We continued the same performance against Bhutan and we succeeded,” he said.
He added that the team is looking forward to the task at hand on November 01 and working hard to prepare for it. “We will continue the same display and look forward to getting a positive result against Bangladesh as well. The boys are motivated after the win against Bhutan and are preparing well for the semifinal against a strong Bangladesh team,” he stated.
