India Women’s Championship: Facile victories for Railways & Pondicherry!

The Indian Railways beat Odisha 3-0 in a Group II quarterfinal match of the National Women’s Football Championship played at the JCT Sports Complex in Chohal, Punjab.

The first-half was the evenly contested with Railways managing to keep Odisha at bay on a few occasions. After a barren first-half, Railways surged into the lead when Kamala Devi converted from the spot. Kamala followed it up doubling the score in the 74th minute. Kamala also had a hand in the last goal when she provided the assist for Kavita Devi to score.

In the other match of the day, Pondicherry scored a big 4-1 win over Jharkhand at the SBBS Complex.
