ISL-5: FC Goa score big 5-0 home win over Mumbai City FC!

FC Goa scored a big 5-0 win against Mumbai City FC in ISL – Season 5 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao on Wednesday evening.

But unlike the final result, the match was much even with the Gaurs scoring off their chances while the Islanders were wasteful infront of goal.

Mumbai City FC had the first chance of the match through defender Subhasish Bose before they conceded a penalty for a foul from Souvik Chakraborty on Ferran Corominas. The Spaniard took the penalty and gave the Gaurs a 7th minute lead.

Both teams had their chances thereafter but FC Goa took a 1-0 lead over Mumbai City FC into the break.

Things remained similar at the start of the second session, but FC Goa doubled their lead in the 55th minute when Jackichand Singh scored off a Seriton Fernandes cross.

Only six minutes later Edu Bedia made it 3-0 with a lovely strike, but Mumbai City FC tried to stay in the game but they continued to miss multiple attempts.

To make matters worse for the guests, substitute Miguel Fernandez scored a late brace in the 84th and 90th minute to make it 5-0 for FC Goa.

Mumbai City FC captain Paulo Machado had the last chance of the game but his free-kick was cleared by young keeper Mohammad Nawaz to seal a memorable 5-0 win for FC Goa over Mumbai City FC.

Mumbai City FC next host Delhi Dynamos on October 27, while FC Goa host another home match against FC Pune City a day later.
