Jamshedpur FC launch ISL campaign against Mohammedan Sporting!

Football returns to the Furnace as Jamshedpur FC open their Indian Super League 2025-26 campaign against Mohammedan Sporting Club on February 15 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. After almost a year, the top tier of Indian football revisits the Steel City, and anticipation among the fans is at its peak.

With over 15,000 tickets already booked, the stage is set for an electrifying evening as Owen Coyle begins his latest chapter back in charge of the Men of Steel. The Shield-winning coach will look to stamp his authority early, aiming to turn the Furnace into a fortress once again across nine home matches this season.

Jamshedpur FC enter the contest determined to bounce back from an underwhelming Super Cup campaign. The squad has shown renewed intensity in training under Coyle, who has emphasised unity, work ethic and collective leadership in recent weeks. The appointment of four captains Stephen Eze, Lazar Cirkovic, Pronay Halder and Pratik Chaudhari signalled the importance of shared responsibility within the group.

Midfield could prove decisive on the night, with foreign recruits Nikola Stojanovic and Madih Talal expected to play key roles. Nikola’s composure and control in central areas, combined with Talal’s creativity and attacking flair, provide Jamshedpur with both balance and cutting edge. The presence of Rei Tachikawa further strengthens the engine room, while at the back, Stephen Eze and Lazar bring stability and experience.

Mohammedan SC, meanwhile, will be eager to make a statement in their campaign opener and silence a passionate home crowd. Known for their resilience and disciplined structure, they are expected to test Jamshedpur’s defensive organisation while looking to capitalise on transitions.

Previewing the contest, Owen Coyle said, “They’ll be spirited and united, especially given their situation. We must respect them, but our approach is to play with high intensity, pass and move the ball, be positive from the first minute, and make sure we take our chances while staying solid defensively.”

For Jamshedpur FC, the equation is clear. They need a strong start, high intensity and maximum use of home advantage. With the Furnace ready to roar and the ISL spotlight back on the city, the Men of Steel will aim to reward their supporters with a performance full of energy, commitment and attacking intent.
