Minerva Punjab FC sign talented duo of Anirudh Thapa & Prosenjit Chakraborty!

New I-League corporate entrants Minerva Punjab FC have announced the signing of talented duo of midfielder Anirudh Thapa and defender Prosenjit Chakraborty for the upcoming campaign.

Minerva Punjab FC after their I-League inclusion have been on the lookout to strengthen their team now the teenage duo of Anirudh Thapa and Prosenjit Chakraborty join them on loan from Indian Super League franchise Chennaiyin FC.

18 year old Dehradun born Anirudh Thapa started his career at the at the St. Stephen’s Football Academy in Chandigarh before being spotted for the AIFF Elite Academy and in 2016 spend some time at the FC Metz International Academy in France before joining defending champions Chennaiyin FC for ISL-3, where he made his ISL debut in the last match day away to FC Goa. Anirudh has played for the India Under-16s and U-19s, having been the captain of the U-19s.

Prosenjit Chakraborty is 19 year old and from Bengal. He was spotted at the Under-14 Nationals, later on joined the AIFF Elite Academy and in 2016 spend some time at the FC Metz International Academy in France before joining ISL champions Chennaiyin FC for ISL-3 but he was not part of the squad like Anirudh. Prosenjit has played for the India Under-14s, U-16s and U-19s.

Despite being young both Anirudh and Prosenjit bring some valuable international junior experience to Minerva Punjab FC, but not at the top senior level like it would be needed in the I-League, but maybe they can impress like Jerry Lalrinzuala did the ISL-3 for Chennaiyin FC.
