Mohammedan Sporting Club held by Calcutta Customs to 1-1 draw in the CFL!

Mohammedan Sporting Club’s winning run in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ ended with a one-all draw against on Monday evening at the Barasat Municipal Stadium.

The match started with two minutes of silence for former Mohammedan Sporting president Sultan Ahmed, who had died yesterday.

Thereafter Mohammedan Sporting had more than expected problems against a Calcutta Customs side who are fighting against CFL relegation and they needed a near perfect free-kick from their Cameroonian striker Aser Dipanda Dicka in the first half injury time to give the Black Panthers a lead going into the break.

But at the start of the second session, Calcutta Customs had more of the ball and a long range effort from Dhiman Saha in the 59th minute got them the equaliser.

Mohammedan Sporting are now third with 10 points from five matches and next face Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan on Sunday, September 10.
