The Juggernauts courtesy of two late goals sealed an incredible 3-2 comeback against the Red Miners in Jamshedpur last night.
Daniel Chukwu gave Jamshedpur FC the lead inside the opening minutes of the first half followed by Boris Singh. Diego Mauricio pulled one back at the end of the first 45 minutes.
The Furnace faced torrential rain which delayed the kick-off. Ricky’s drilled in a low cross from the left flank which was deflected by Thoiba Singh but the rebound, unfortunately, fell to Daniel Chukwu who made sure to give Jamshedpur FC the lead.
Ten minutes in, another cross from the left flank at the far post was converted into a two-goal cushion by Boris Singh. The man from Brazil, Diego Mauricio, halved the deficit seven minutes later for Odisha fC courtesy of Raynier Fernandes. Diego found himself in plenty of space before he curled his effort in at the far post.
Amrinder Singh made a couple of brilliant saves in the second half. The comeback was executed late in the second half when Isak and Isaac were brought in. Isak and Isaac combined brilliantly on the right flank before Isaac smashed the ball in with his left foot.
Cut to stoppage time Isak was involved in the buildup again as he picked out Diego with an inch-perfect ball before the striker fired in his second of the night and wrapped up all three points for the Juggernauts.
Odisha FC faces Mumbai City FC next at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday, October 15.
