RB Leipzig and Amadou Haidara are extending his contract, which currently runs until summer 2025, by another year until 2026.
This means the Red Bulls can add another familiar face to the club’s history – because the 26-year-old has been playing for RB Leipzig for five years and has already played 175 competitive games, the twelfth most in the club’s history.
Amadou Haidara had came to Leipzig from Red Bulls Salzburg in January 2019.
RB Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schröder said, “Amadou Haidara is a great player and person who plays a central role in our team. That’s why we really wanted to extend the contract early. Amadou has made an enormous leap in the last two years and, at 26, is not yet at the end of his development.”
“He is a very important link player for us: on the pitch in central midfield with his technical skills and dynamism; off the pitch as a leader for our young French-speaking players. He is developing more and more into a leading figure at RB Leipzig and we are relying on his qualities.”
Amadou Haidara added, “I’ve been at RB Leipzig for five years now and I’m incredibly happy here. I feel the recognition for my performance throughout the club and especially among our fans. It’s always one of the best moments for me to celebrate with the fans after the games. And we have an outstanding team that has incredible potential.”
“RB Leipzig is my second family and the last two years in particular have been very successful with the two cup wins and the success in the Supercup. In Marco Rose I have an excellent coach who relies on me, develops me and uses me in such a way that I can use my strengths. I’m just looking forward to everything that lies ahead of us here at the club.”
