Despite a late resurgence from Delhi Dynamos ‘B’, the ISL outfit’s reserve side succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Real Kashmir FC in their Group A match of the Second Division League at the Ambedkar Stadium.
Delhi Dynamos ‘B’ head coach Fran Perez opted for a change in tactics as the Delhi Dynamos ‘B’ went with three at the back, but that played to Real Kashmir FC’s strengths as the visitors dominate the proceedings from the start.
Delhi Dynamos ‘B’ goalkeeper Sukhadev Patil was forced into an early save as he denied three players from Real Kashmir FC in a one-on-one situation. But all the hardwork was soon of no use as the visitors were handed a spot kick minutes later. Atinder Mani stepped up to score and hand Real Kashmir FC the lead.
10 minutes later David Robertson’s side doubled their advantage as a lopping header from Danish Farooq left the Delhi Dynamos ‘B’ backline helpless and landed straight into an empty net. Ritwick Kumar then made things worse for Delhi Dynamos ‘B’ as his shot from outside the box went straight into Sukhadev’s net to hand Real Kashmir FC a 3-0 lead heading into the break.
Delhi Dynamos ‘B’ changed things in the second half and came out much stronger with striker Seiminmang Manchong leading the line. The substitute striker cut down the gap to two goals as his glancing header from Nonganba’s cross found the far post.
The hosts could have added another in the 85th minute of the game but poor judgement from Kuber Bisht saw them miss out on a glorious opportunity. The midfielder though redeemed himself minutes later as his volley from outside the box made it 2-3 for Delhi Dynamos ‘B’.
Despite late persistence from the hosts, Real Kashmir FC held their own in the final few minutes to earn a 3-2 win.
