Soccerex Global Convention 2018 to move to Doha, Qatar!

The Soccerex Global Convention 2017 was held from September 4 to 6 in Manchester for a final time and now it will shift from next year to Doha, Qatar.

Soccerex had held its first-ever event in Manchester in 1996 with annual events in London in 1997, Paris in 1998, Los Angeles in 1999 before returning to Old Trafford in Manchester in 2000. From the following year Dubai became the home from 2001 to 2006, then Johannesburg (2007–2009), Rio de Janeiro (2010–2013) and finally Manchester (2014–17).

The 2018 edition of the Soccerex Global Convention will be taking place in the Qatar next November with the continuing support of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.

Commenting on the last Convention in Manchester and the move to Qatar, Soccerex Chairman Tony Martin said, “The past few days have been fantastic; a fantastic advert for the thriving football industry we represent and a fantastic way to sign off on eight wonderful years in Manchester. I am very proud of what we achieved and I would like to thank many different people who have been part of delivering this excellent event. It was very emotional for Rita, myself and all the Soccerex team doing this event without Duncan but I know he was looking down on us, helping us along the way. We move on now to Qatar for the Asian Forum in December and then the Global event next November, with Soccerex China sandwiched in between. These events will provide the Soccerex experience in new and thriving markets and with advanced discussions taking place around new events in Europe and North America these are exciting times for Soccerex!”

The Soccerex Asian Forum will take place on December 4/5 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Doha, hosted with the support of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. Soccerex China will take place in Shenzhen on the Pearl River Delta on April 17/18, 2018.
