Belgium international centre-back Toby Alderweireld has left English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to join Qatar Stars League side Al Duhail SC.

Toby Alderweireld’s move from England to Qatar has come as a surprise to many.

The Al Duhail SC management has completed the procedures with Toby Alderweireld to sign him on a three year contract until 2024.

32 year old Antwerp-born Toby Albertine Maurits Alderweireld played for Germinal Ekeren, Germinal Beerschot and the Ajax Amsterdam Academy.

At senior level, Alderweireld played for Ajax Amsterdam (2008-13), Atlético Madrid (2013–15), Southampton FC (2014/15, loan), and Tottenham Hotspur (2015–21).
