Tommy Doyle to join Wolverhampton Wanderers permanently!

Tommy Doyle will become a permanent Wolverhampton Wanderers player on July 1, 2024, after the club activated the option in the midfielder’s loan deal this week.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful loan from Manchester City this season, turning out 30 times and bringing different qualities to Gary O’Neil’s midfield, and has now signed a four-year deal at Molineux.

Confident on the ball and holding an impressive range of passing, the youngster arrived on transfer deadline day last summer fresh from helping Sheffield United into the Premier League on loan the previous season.

The Molineux opportunity offered a first taste of the top flight for the City academy graduate, who patiently waited for his opportunities, which initially came off the bench and provided glimpses of his ability, particularly in autumn wins over AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur.

Once settled at this level, Doyle’s opportunities increased and a stunning Emirates FA Cup strike at Brentford began Wolves’ journey in the competition and earned the midfielder a place in the club’s Goal of the Season nominations.

A positive influence off the pitch and ever professional each day in training, Doyle earned the trust of his manager, starting in impressive Premier League wins over Everton and Fulham at Molineux, as well as the Black Country derby success at the Hawthorns.

Now, one summer on from winning the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with England, Doyle has made Molineux his permanent home until 2028, with the deal including an additional two-year option.
