VIDEO – Prudent Media: FC Goa’s Sergio Lobera happy about strong finish!

FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera is happy with the second-place finish in the league stage of ISL-5 as the Gaurs will now get to play the all-important semifinals second-leg in front of their fans at Fatorda on March 12.

FC Goa finished the league engagements with a 1-0 win against bottom-placed Chennaiyin FC on Thursday night at Fatorda, and thus have 34 points as toppers Bengaluru FC, who occupy the uppermost position due to their better head-to-head record.

Lobera was happy with the club’s record of highest goals scored for second season running and the new feather in their cap with most number of clean sheets (8) achieved this year.

Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC coach John Gregory feels his boys did a relatively good job keeping FC Goa quiet although his side lost to finish with lowest season tally of 9 points for a dubious in the history of ISL. “It is a personal insult,” said the Englishman, who announced that he will not stay at Chennaiyin FC next season.
