I-League runners-up NEROCA FC have named 37 year old Wangkheirakpam Shyamjai Meitei as their new assistant coach for the 2018/19 season.
Imphal-born Shyamjai is an AFC ‘B’ coaching licence holder and has in recent years mainly worked in youth development. He worked for the Academy of current I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC since 2016. His biggest achievement was to lift the U-16 Nike Premier Cup in 2017 with the Minerva Punjab FC juniors, while he also worked as an assistant coach with the senior club team.
Wangkheirakpam Shyamjai Meitei has 10 years of coaching experience and as a local will be understudy to new NEROCA head coach Manuel Retamero of Spain with the club aiming to repeat their success of the last season.
