Indian Women’s League – Qualifiers kick off with goals galore!

The first day of the second edition of the Indian Women’s League got underway with the Qualifiers stage today at Kolhapur. The day’s action saw a flurry of goals being scored in both the matches as Sethu FC thumped Baroda Football Academy 16-0, while Rising Students Club beat Jammu & Kashmir State Sports Council 8-0.

Sethu FC dominated the entire duration of the match, scoring goals at regular intervals to secure victory for the team from Tamil Nadu. Sumitra from Sethu FC was adjuged the Player of the Match.

In the second game of the day, Rising Students Club outclassed Jammu & Kashmir State Sports Council in the first half before the girls from the north produced a strong performance in the second half but it was too little too late. India international Pyari Xaxa from Rising Students Club was awarded the Player of the Match award for her performance.
