Eintracht Frankfurt give long-term deal to Axel Hellmann!

The Eintracht Frankfurt supervisory board decided unanimously to award a new five-year contract to the CEO, tying him to the club through to 2027.

The Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supervisory board decided unanimously on 25 March 2022 to extend the contract of Axel Hellmann with effect from July 1, 2022 through to June 30, 2027. The various board-level responsibilities will therefore remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.

Hellmann has been on the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supervisory board since 2012 and is currently responsible for the media and communications, sales and marketing, merchandising, international relations and sporting projects, and supporter service departments.

“Continuity and reliability are an important guiding principle for our supervisory board in terms of cooperation,” said Philip Holzer, chairman of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supervisory board. “It was important for us to strengthen the existing board structure of Eintracht Fußball AG, and part of that was the desire to give Axel Hellmann and his board colleagues the impetus they need to take on the challenges and decisions that they are currently facing. In recent years, the work that Axel Hellmann has done has made an important contribution to developing Eintracht Frankfurt into an attractive and modern club both in the Bundesliga and internationally. We believe that the supervisory board of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG is very well set up and we are convinced that he will continue to work with the same serious commitment and levels of success.”

“I would like to thank wholeheartedly the members of the supervisory board and its chairman Philip Holzer for the enormous confidence that they have shown in my work and that of my colleagues,” said Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG CEO Hellmann. “In recent years, we have worked together to establish Eintracht Frankfurt as one of the top ten clubs in Germany and to make them one of the leading lights of German and European football by way of sporting success, financial stability and significant business expertise. With a view to the next five years, we have come to the mutual decision to continue along this path of growth and competitiveness while at the same time maintaining the close ties to our fan base and the surrounding region, despite the enormous obstacles that COVID-19 has put in our way. I am sure that this foundation of internal strength and unity across the entire club will ensure a healthy and successful future for us, and my colleagues and I are keen to carry on contributing to this.”
