Former VfL Bochum coach Robin Dutt waives salary payment in Corona pandemic!

Former VfL Bochum coach of Indian origin Robin Dutt has come up with a noble gesture as he has asked his former employers to waive pending salary payments in times of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

“We got a positive signal from him,” said the Chairman of the VfL Bochum supervisory board, Hans-Peter Villis, to the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” newspaper on Saturday, April 11. “He contacted (sports director) Sebastian Schindzielorz and offered a partial waiver.” One was surprised and pleased about the accommodating attitude of the former DFB sports director.

Robin Dutt, a former head coach of Stuttgarter Kickers, SC Freiburg, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Werder Bremen, is currently without a job in football and he left Bochum under controversial circumstances last August after a 3-3 draw against SV Wehen Wiesbaden following a 0-3 result at half-time.

VfL Bochum managing director Ilja Kaenzig had told the WAZ newspaper a week earlier that the Ruhr valley club was debt-free, but there were no reserves to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
