Sreenidi Deccan FC have been placed alongside Indian Super League teams Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC and Hyderabad FC in Group A of the upcoming Kalinga Super Cup 2024 football tournament to be held in Bhubaneswar from January 9 – 28. The Deccan Warriors are one of four I-League teams competing in this tournament along with all 12 Indian Super League teams, having qualified as the top ranked I-League team by virtue of their second placed position in the standings.
The Kalinga Super Cup 2024 is being held during a period where both football leagues – Indian Super League and I-League – are on break due to the AFC Asian Cup taking place in Qatar where the Indian National Football Team is competing.
This Kalinga Super Cup will be the first time that Sreenidi Deccan FC will be facing the Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal FC. The last fixture of Group A will also see the first official Hyderabad derby as Sreenidi Deccan FC and Hyderabad FC will face off in a competitive match for the first time.
Sreenidi Deccan FC will open their Group A campaign against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Tuesday, January 9 at the Kalinga Stadium. The match will kick off at 7:30pm IST and will be streamed live on the Jio Cinema App.
