FC Goa sign right back Denzil Franco for ISL-3!

FC Goa - Denzil FrancoIndian Super League franchise FC Goa today announced that they have signed local boy Denzil Franco for the third edition of the ISL.

30 year old Saligao-born Denzil started his football career with the Sesa Football Academy at youth level and also made his top level debut for the Academy before leaving for Mumbai in 2008 to join Mahindra United. After two years he returned to Goa to join Churchill Brothers SC and have a very successful spell for them, even making it into the Indian national team.

In the first Indian Super League in 2014, Denzil was drafted by Atletico de Kolkata and he went on to win the trophy with ATK, he stayed with them for the second ISL but an injury did not allow him any match time. Denzil for ISL – Season 3 returns to his home state of Goa with a hope to return to full match fitness and be an important part of coach Zico’s plans for FC Goa.

On signing for FC Goa, Denzil said on social media, “I owe everything to goa for giving me my footballing opportunities and now I want to put something back..!!”

“I promise my Goan fans that you will get to see my best form this season and at the same time say a heartfelt thanks to everyone for showing so much love n support,” Denzil added.
