Yumnam Raju signs contract extension till 2019 with Jamshedpur FC!

Jamshedpur FC’s versatile left back Yumnam Raju Mangang penned a contract extension with Jamshedpur FC that keeps him with the club till the end of the next 2018/19 season. The 28-year-old from Manipur played consistently in the second half of the season, cementing his spot in Steve Coppell’s starting XI.

After signing the extension, Raju revealed that Jamshedpur felt like home to him. “The players, management, officials and staff members all worked together as a family which was very impressive. Also, the conditions of the city are like my city, so it makes me feel like home.”

Raju also hopes to improve himself as a player next season as he said, “I had a good season, but I would like to work on my weaknesses and rectify mistakes I made last season. I really want to help Jamshedpur FC reach the semi-finals next season.”

What impressed Raju the most were the fans and he had an emotional message for them as he said, “The fans & Red Miners are very supportive and encourage us no matter what. They are the 12th man of the team and they make me proud to put on the Jamshedpur FC jersey.”

“From the bottom of my heart, I thank them for their support and I believe The Furnace will be louder than ever the next time I step onto the pitch for an Indian Super League match.”

The Manipuri joined the Steelmen squad in Bhubaneswar earlier today, March 27 as Jamshedpur FC prepares to face Minerva Punjab FC in the pre-quarterfinals of the Super Cup.
