1.FC Köln extend Dominique Heintz’s contract!

1.FC Köln have extended Dominique Heintz’s contract. The 30-year-old centre-back has signed a deal until June 30, 2026.

“Dominique enjoys a great standing in our team. Firstly, because of his experience but also due to his mentality. He brings both into our team in an excellent way. For the younger players, he offers them support in the tough phase we are currently in. He also gives everything on the pitch, has strong performances in training to help fire the battle for places and is dependable when he is called upon,” said 1.FC Köln Managing Director, Christian Keller.

In the current season, he has made eight Bundesliga appearances. In the coming summer, Dominique Heintz will head into his fifth season at the club. He made his first footballing steps in professional football with 1.FC Kaiserslautern before joining FC. He spent three seasons here, reaching the UEFA Europa League in 2017 before suffering relegation the following season.

Despite his moves to SC Freiburg, Union Berlin and VfL Bochum, his connection to Köln has always remained: “Even during my first stint here, the club became a second home for me. Both of my kids were born after games against FC. I love the city, the fans and the club – and the appreciation that I have here is unmatched. Everyone knows that I give everything when I’m on the pitch. For a player, it is something special when you can play for such an incredible club for another two years. I’m very proud of that,” said Dominique Heintz.
