11 positive in latest round of Premier League COVID-19 tests!

The Premier League today, August 16 confirmed that between Monday, August 9 and Sunday, August 15, across two rounds of testing, 3.231 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there was 11 positive test.

In line with testing provisions in healthcare, the Premier League will use lateral flow tests this season, and anyone who tests positive will then take a PCR test to confirm the result.

The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public on a weekly basis.

Previous test results

Round 1: August 2-8 – 3,118 tested, with nine testing positive.
