CONCACAF have released a 2020 Scotiabank CONCACAF League update on postponed matches & confirmed schedule for Round of 16.
Arcahaie FC (HAI) vs Verdes FC (BLZ)
As part of CONCACAF’s extensive testing conducted prior to the Scotiabank CONCACAF League (SCL) preliminary round match between Arcahaie FC and Verdes FC, four players and four staff members from Verdes tested positive for COVID-19.
Due to the high proportion of positive tests from one club, CONCACAF made the decision to postpone the match. Further information came to light which suggested CONCACAF protocols were not fully followed by Verdes in their preparations for this match.
In further discussions with Verdes to consider rescheduling options, the club has informed CONCACAF that it has made the decision to withdraw from the competition.
Per competition regulations, Arcahaie FC will advance to the Round of 16 and face Waterhouse FC (JAM) on Thursday, November 5.
LD Alajuelense (CRC) vs Cibao FC (DOM)
Due to inconsistencies in the information CONCACAF received regarding the application of the protocols in the build-up to LD Alajuelense vs Cibao FC, a precautionary decision was taken to postpone this match.
CONCACAF has rescheduled the match to be played on Wednesday, November 4, at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto.
This change means the Round of 16 matchup between the winner of this game and San Francisco FC (PAN) will be rescheduled to a later date in November. Further details will be communicated in due course.
