2023 CONCACAF Central American Cup Semifinals & Play-In matchups and schedule confirmed!

CONCACAF has confirmed the schedule and matchups for the 2023 CONCACAF Central American Cup Semifinals and Play-In. The home-and-away series will take place October 24-26 (first legs) and October 31 – November 2, 2023 (second legs).

The last of the competition’s Quarterfinal matches culminated last night in Alajuela, Costa Rica, with two-time CONCACAF Champions Cup winners LD Alajuelense (CRC) joining Club Atlético Independiente (PAN), Real Estelí FC (NCA), and CS Herediano (CRC) in the Semifinals. These four clubs have also secured their participation in next year’s expanded 27-club CONCACAF Champions Cup.

The four losing quarterfinalists, CS Cartaginés (CRC), FC Motagua (HON), Deportivo Saprissa (CRC), and Comunicaciones FC (GUA), have all progressed to a CONCACAF Central American Cup Play-In, where they will face off for the two remaining 2024 Champions Cup berths for Central American clubs.

As per the competition’s regulations, the Semifinal and Play-In matchups are determined by the tournament’s bracket, and the highest-ranked club in each matchup, based on the total accumulated points in the competition, will host the return-leg matches.

After the Semifinals, the winner in each matchup will advance to the 2023 CONCACAF Central American Final, where the first-ever Central American Cup champion will be crowned. The home-and-away Final is scheduled for November 28-30 (First Leg) and December 5-7 (Second Leg).
