Former I-League champions Gokulam Kerala FC have announced the signing of experienced Spanish midfielder Edu Bedia.
34 year old Eduardo Bedia Peláez, who was born in Santander, in his youth played for local side Racing Santander, where he also would make his senior debut with the reserve side and then also play for the first team.
He spend time on loan for UD Salamanca before leaving for Hércules CF.
Edu Bedia’s talent took him to the reserve side of FC Barcelona but only after a season, he left for then German Bundesliga 2 side 1860 Munich. Thereafter Edu Bedia returned to Spain to play for Real Oviedo and Real Zaragoza.
In 2017, Edu Bedia moved to India to join FC Goa and he spend six seasons with the Gaurs. More than 100 ISL games later and as club captain, he left the club in the summer.
For Gokulam Kerala FC the signing of Edu Bedia showcases their intention to fight for the I-League title and promotion to the Indian Super League.
