Independence Day Cup 2017: Chhinga Veng FC score stunning comeback, Chanmari FC also win!

MFA Super Cup champions Chhinga Veng FC came from two goals down to win 5-2 against Mizoram Police FC to make it two wins out of two matches on Tuesday.

Mizoram Police FC took an early two goal lead through Lalsangbera and B. Zoramthanga within the first 10 minutes.

Chhinga Veng FC responded with a strike from Malsawmfela but were still 1-2 down at half-time.

Chhinga Veng FC shook things up in the second half with Laldampuia and Lalkhawpuimawia entering the fray. And the result was evident. R. Laldinliana equalised on the 52nd minute and M.S. Dawngliana scored for Chhinga Veng FC to take the lead for the first time 10 minutes later.

And it wasn’t enough for the Super Cup champions as Malsawmfela scored his second on the 75th minute and Lalkhawpuimawia scoring their fifth four minutes later.

The second fixture of the day saw Chanmari FC come up against Assam army side Rhino Charge.

Rhino Charge fielded eight Mizo players in their starting line-up but were unfortunate to lose the match 0-1 courtesy of a goal from Vanlalbiaa two minutes before halftime.
