ISL-4: Mumbai City FC’s semifinal hopes end with 1-5 trashing at Delhi Dynamos!

Delhi Dynamos scored their biggest win of ISL – Season 4, a 5-1 victory over Mumbai City FC, whose slim semifinal chances ended on a dismal night at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The hosts Delhi Dynamos went ahead as early as the 6th minute as Seityasen Singh’s cross found Nandhakumar Sekar who scored past keeper Amrinder Singh.

Thereafter the guests from Mumbai City FC had the better chances to equalise but they had to wait after the break to score the 1-1 equaliser in the 49th minute off an Everton Santos rebound after Balwant Singh’s original effort had been bocked by keeper Xabier Iruetaguena.

Thereafter both sides had their chances before the Delhi Dynamos again went ahead in the 75th minute through left-footed stunner by Matias Mirabaje. But two minutes later the Dynamos were reduced to ten men when Pratik Chowdhary received his second yellow card of the night, while three minutes later Mumbai City FC were also down to ten men when Sahil Tavora also received his second yellow card of the match for a foul on Manuel Arana in the box. Arana himself took the penalty for Delhi Dynamo’s third goal.

Arana then set-up the Dynamo’s fourth for captain Kalu Uche, while young Lallianzuala Chhangte scored the hosts fifth goal on a memorable night.
